The Role
Are you a Technical Business Analyst who enjoys turning complex business needs into clear, practical technical solutions?
We're looking for an experienced and highly skilled Technical Business Analyst to join our Integrations, Data & Insight team on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in our head office in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in some of the high-profile technology transformation projects taking place across Unite Group.
You'll work closely with teams across Technology and the wider business to understand their information and data needs, translating these into clear and detailed technical specifications that help shape and deliver effective solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
Translate business requirements and high-level designs into clear, detailed technical specifications.
Design and document how data moves between different systems, including data mapping and APIs.
Document data sources, flows and lineage across systems and platforms.
Work closely with Engineers, Architects, Business Analysts and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet agreed requirements.
Support the project team in prioritising and refining sprint work.
Work with development teams to ensure delivered solutions meet expectations.
Partner with the Analytics team to ensure the right data is available for reporting and dashboards.
Work with Business Analysts across the organisation to align data requirements across projects.
Support the Intelligent Business Automation team with data and integration requirements.
Work with Data Governance to ensure data is accurately mapped, documented and managed to agreed standards.
Maintain key data documentation, including mappings, metadata, ownership and lineage.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, manage risks and maximise the value of data and technology.
Provide support and guidance to other Technical Business Analysts when required.
What We're Looking for in You
A confident self-starter and strong communicator, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Good understanding of data processing and how data flows between systems.
Basic experience querying databases using tools such as SQL or Python, with an understanding of data modelling concepts.
Ability to understand data dependencies across systems and teams.
Strong documentation skills, with the ability to clearly capture requirements for both analysts and developers.
Experience working with cloud-based data platforms such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks or Redshift.
