The Role

Make technology procurement count at Unite Students

At Unite Students, we're looking for a commercially minded Technology Procurement Manager to join our growing procurement team.

Reporting to our Senior Procurement Manager – Technology, you'll play an important role in shaping how we source and manage technology across the business. You'll work across Cloud, IT Infrastructure and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), helping us secure the right solutions, build strong supplier partnerships and deliver commercial value.

This is an opportunity for someone who understands the technology market, enjoys complex commercial negotiations and can turn procurement expertise into practical business outcomes.

If you have a strong background in technology procurement and want to make a tangible impact, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead strategic sourcing: Support and deliver sourcing strategies across Cloud, IT Infrastructure, SaaS and other relevant spend categories.
  • Drive commercial value: Lead competitive tendering, evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate contracts that balance cost, quality, performance and risk.
  • Build strong partnerships: Work closely with IT, project teams and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop effective procurement solutions.
  • Manage supplier performance: Build productive supplier relationships, monitor performance and identify opportunities to improve service and value.
  • Protect the business: Support contract development and negotiations, ensuring appropriate commercial terms and effective management of supplier risk.
  • Improve procurement processes: Maintain accurate contract and supplier records, support catalogue management and identify opportunities to make procurement more efficient.
  • Contribute to responsible business: Support Unite Students' wider commercial, environmental, social and governance objectives through responsible sourcing and supplier engagement.

What We're Looking for in You

We're particularly interested in candidates with specialist experience in technology procurement, who can combine commercial expertise with an understanding of the technology landscape.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Hands-on experience procuring technology products and services, particularly Cloud, IT Infrastructure and SaaS.
  • Experience in strategic sourcing, competitive tendering, supplier selection and commercial negotiations.
  • The ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders and suppliers at different levels.
  • Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to identify opportunities, assess options and deliver value.
  • Experience in supplier relationship management and contract management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and deliver to deadlines.
  • A collaborative, customer-focused approach and the confidence to influence decisions.

Experience in category management and catalogue management would also be beneficial.

What You'll Get in Return

  • A discretionary annual bonus so you can share in the company's success
  • 25 days' paid holiday and an annual holiday buying scheme, with 5 additional days awarded for long service
  • A generous pension scheme – employer contributions between 5% and 11% depending on how much you save
  • Various benefits to support your health and wellbeing including a Healthcare Cash Plan, an Employee Assistance Programme, a Wellbeing platform and a Gym benefit that you can share with your family and friends
  • Enhanced Family Leave including 18 weeks full pay for birthing parents and 4 weeks for non-birthing parents
  • Lots of other great benefits including an annual ShareSave scheme, Employee Life Assurance, a discounts portal and more!
